Many countries are famous for their music scene, and sometimes strongly connected with stereotypes or a genre. Others are maybe not on the radar as a typical rock / metal nation, but discovering a band in a new area often brings even more to light. The idea behind “Prog Around the World” is to travel musically and find new bands on this trip, or learn more about those who might be familiar already.

A huge thanks to all who followed and supported this adventure from the beginning, and a warm welcome to those who joined us along the way. Welcome to also check out the interviews from 2021 , 2022 and 2023

Let's see, where 2024 is gonna take us :-)

A KEW'S TAG - Germany

This year, we kick off our journey in the North of Germany, where we meet with Acoustic Progmetal trio A kew's tag. No idea how this might sound? Welcome to find out and join my chat with their guitarist Johannes here

NORGAAHL - Germany

Before we set sail abroad again, I'd like to invite you for a stop in my home town Munich and meet Death Metal five-piece NORGAAHL, who will release their new EP "Kraxelmann" on March 22nd, 2024. Welcome to learn more about their lyrical concept and the band's background here

We're heading to Lebanon and meet guitarist Alain Ibrahim from Progmetal masters Turbulence, who just released their third album "B1nary Dream" on March 8th. Welcome to learn more about the band's name, their musical background and the album's concept here

NinémiA - Cyprus

From Lebanon, it's just a few miles to our next stop on Cyprus, where we sit down for a chat with bassist and composer Christos Agathokleous, who just released an amazing debut album with his project NinémiA, "Weapons of Math Destruction". Read more here

After a little break, we're back on track and off to Sweden. The high number of great releases coming from there currently is absolutely impressive, and Loch Vostok are clearly among my favorites this year with their proggy beast "Opus Ferox II - Mark of the Beast".
